His next novel "A Thousand Splendid Suns" is about a womans' sacrifice for her family and the thirty years of Afghan history to see it through. Riverhead Books will release it to the Public May 22 of this year. Movie rights to the book have already been purchased by producer Scott Rudin and Columbia Pictures.
His first novel, "Kite Runner" was the #3 best seller for 2005 in the US. It has been made into a movie and will open in November 2007.
