I've heard most of the ones already stated.

The only 1 I can think of now(though when I'm less tired I'll probably remember loads more) is not so much an Urban Legend as just a legend-and a very old 1 at that.

Basically in Britain there is supposed to be a supernatural dog commonly called Old Shep.He has loads of other names too depending on what part of Britain your from.

He is said to be a big,jet-black dog with glowing eyes(usually red but sometimes other colours)He is seen in all sorts of places but most often in or near graveyards,on empty beaches or very quiet roads.He is always alone-no human with him-and always seems to ignore the person who sees him.The most common times of day for sightings seem to be night or very early morning.

He is usually only seen by people who are alone but sometimes he has been known to pass a group but only one of the group is able to see him.He usually vanishes the second the person takes their eyes off him.

Anyway if you do see him your not supposed to say anything about it to anyone for 1 year and 1 day.If you do you'll die soon after.

I'm not certain whether I believe this but if I saw a lone, huge black dog with glowing eyes I'd keep quiet for a year and a day at least just to be safe.

Urban legend from northern Pakistan!!

I was off to go for a hike around the foothills because it was so warm lower down - my mother in law told me a story of how people can have their souls stolen

Basically she told the group that if they heard their name being called and none of the group were behind them - not to turn around or answer. She said that when she was a little girl lots of people went walking and never came back then - there was a man who lived in the village - he was a strong chap in his prime - he went up to the foot hills. He came back the next day as white as a sheet - he told everyone that he'd heard his name called and turned around....

...he was greeted to the sight of a naked woman with very long jet black hair - (covering her nudity) - he approached her but she seemed to be moving without moving - he then noticed her feet

they were backwards

he turned and walked back to the village

he died within hours of telling the story - some people say he died of fright.

She was deadly serious telling me this

If ever you hear you name being called where there's no right to be anyone calling

At a beach, if you see a faceless man, that means a storm is coming. There's a story to this, but I forget it. Also, a girl and her friend heard about a murderer that escaped and got on the loose. THey agreed to lock their doors when they went to bed because they were scared. THey said goodnight,locked the doors, and went to sleep. Later, the girl heard a scratching noise coming from the door of her friend's room. She was scred but went back to bed,. In the morning she opened the door and found that her friend had been murdered and the scratching had been her last attempts to get help...

My favourite is the one about the boy and girl out in their car and he goes to get help cos the car won't start and in the end she hears banging on the roof and the police tell her to leave the car and not look back - of course she does and there is a mad man banging the ripped off head of her boyfriend on the roof of the car. I have heard this tale in nearly every place that I have lived

the woman driving home from work is followed by a car that keeps flashing its headlights at her, she's freaking out and the guy actually pulls in her driveway after her, she runs out of the car and the man yells at her to get in the house and lock the door and call the cops coz there was a guy in her backseat about to stab her and each time he tried. he flashed his headlights to expose him and he hid again.

Another one is the couple that hired a hippie babysitter to take care of their baby, and said they left a turkey for him to start cooking in the oven, while the parents were out enjoying dinner, the hippie got stoned out of his mind, the parents came home to find the turkey wrapped in a blanket in the crib, and the hippie walks in and says "dinners ready" lol

I was told this by a top consultant I once worked with, apparently during her stint at medical school they had to partake in dissection of dead bodies, it was rumoured that after one such lecture someone stole the penis off one of the bodies and sewed it to the inside of his trousers poking through the zip and preceded to walk to the tube station to the shocked gasps of passers by.

yes i know of one or two supposedly you go into a dark room with a mirror and spin around in a circle and say Bloody Mary louder and louder and LOUDER (about three times i think) untill she comes out of the mirror and slices your throat supposedly you can do the same thing with candy man this is what i've heard i've never had the guts to do it myself

theres one i have heard from several different people all claiming to know someone who knew a girl that was playing ouiegi board, and contacted someone and after she was found hanging in the bathroom by her cross around her neck, i thought this was true until about 5 different people told me they knew someone who knew this girl
