I refurbished my 1gen 4gig ipod mini with new screen and battery. When i was done, it worked fine except that it would only charge on my computer and not with the AC adapter or car charger. So, I clicked 'restore' to see if it might remedy the problem and part of the restore process is plugging it into the AC adapter and since it doesn't recognize the AC adapter, it is stuck in that state permanently. Anyone have the solution?

I got so angry, i had the same problem, i went on to some forums and found that if you get a Very powerful magnet and run it over the ipod with the screen face up, and leave it on it for about an hour, then take it off and do it for another hour, it sorts out the glitch

You could try and reset it, to reset it do the following: Click the center button on the click wheel for 5-7 seconds until the apple logo appears, when It appers it means that you have succesfully reset your ipod. This happened to me so I reset it and it charged on the adapter. Hope this helps.

Ipods are going to try to take over the world once there are enough in circulation and enough people are listening to them simultaneously. Consider yourself a hero for stopping one from attempting to take over the world

Did it freeze? If so, that happened to me and I had to let it die.(uncharge) And then, charge it again and it worked. I hope this helps. ( :>
