well this morning about 8:00 or so I was outside walking off of my porch stairs & I lost my balance & fell. It was really hard to breath & a hard time getting up. its 2:55 pm now & im still in terrible pain & its kinda hard to breath. I want to go to the hospital to get exrays & make sure my baby is ok. But somebody told me they don't know if they will do exrays while pregnant. Is it still a good idea to go & get checked or will it be a waste of time to go? What could they do if they won't do exrays?? I want serious answers please!

You don't always need an xray. Go to the docs asap. You don't want something minor to turn into something serious.

I fell down a flight of stair when i was 8 mos. and went to the Dr. He didn't do x-rays, but did do an ultrasound and just checked out the areas that hurt. You wont be wasting your time -you may save your baby's life or keep from having serious complications during labor-and it hurts bad enough w/o extra pains. go the hospital now. good luck, I hope everything is ok

Oh my how scary. Are you having any spotting or leakage of fluids? If so you need to go to your ER now. If not then you might be ok. The baby is protected by layers of fluid and fat. But I'm no doctor so the safest bet is to make a visit no matter what. I do not think they will do an Xray but they might do an ultrasound. I hope all is well.

GO TO THE HOSPITAL. It is true that you can't get x-rays during a pregnancy without a lead apron. They could use sonograms and ultrasounds to see what is up with you and the baby. As well as monitor the baby. You shouldn't wait any longer, because it could be something serious it you are having difficulties breathing.

first call your ob they should have an emmergency line that you reach them at. It also would not hurt to go to the ER if you are having problems still they will beable to do an ultra sound and check if the baby is ok. they may or may not do Xrays they try to limit those as much as possible during pregnany. they can check you and make sure every thing is ok with you as well It is always ok to ask questions and be pro active in you and your childs health

Go and get checked...whenever something is not right during pregnancy, go get checked without hesitation. They may just listen to the baby's heart and do a NST, but you need to know how you baby is....Is your baby moving normally? You probably know this, but a baby should be moving at least 10 times an hour, several time a day.

They will do an ultrasound to make sure the baby is ok, and then they will check you out to see if you are fine since its hard for you to breath. Its a good idea to go.

Go to the hospital, immediately. Why would it be a waste of time? There are other things they can do besides xrays to see if the baby and you are okay. I hope it's not too late if something IS wrong!

It is more important for you to make sure the baby is safe and healthy as well as yourself, ignoring the problem could cause miscarriage if you did hurt yourself. At least call your doctor or even 911 for advice, but as a nurse I say go, you need to be checked!

Of course you should go. Don't take a chance that something is wrong with you or your baby. GO! They won't do x-rays while you are pregnant but they can do an ultrasound and check to be sure everything is okay. Good luck.

You better go to the hospital they don't have to do xrays to check and make sure your baby is ok now hurry on and go get seen you are putting your unborn baby in jeopardy which could send you in premature labor if something is wrong. the DR's can check your babys heart rate.
