Eight hours a day with overtime expected. Calls at all hours of the night with problems. I was a programmer prior to cell phones and we always had to carry a beeper.

It depends on the level of the analyst. If you are working a helpdesk it is normally 8 am - 6 pm. If you are a project PC analyst hours depend on the project and this can be a 24 hour job. Senior support is on call 24 hours a day.
Hours are not a 9 - 5 in this feild of work..

Depends, if you are asking about a consultant, it is any time he gets a call, with extra for nigh time calls. But if you are talking about being hired by company 8 hours a day, on call 24-7-365. With overtime pay over 40 hours.
As a consultant you can not dewaddle all day. Business' expect to have there equipment up and running in an hour or two. If you are good, reall, really, good, a consultant can charge $180.00 on up.

"regular computer analyst"? about 40 hrs/wk. This probably varies widely, but the greatest number are just regular working people.
