Fruit is the end result of a plant's attempt to reproduce. Mature fruits have certain adaptations that allow them to disperse the seed or seeds they contain.

1. The main advantage of fruit in the life cycle is that fruits help with seed dispersal. Some fruits are edible, so animals eat them and deposit the seeds elsewhere. Some fruits have hooks or bristles that allow them to stick in fur, in feathers, or in socks! and then are picked off or scratched off in another place.
Some fruits have fluff or wings that help them drift on the wind to another place.
2. Fruits also provide some physical protection to seeds.
