Burning of a candle involves two kinds of changes;
a. the melting of the wax, and this is a physical change;
b. burning of the thread which is a chemical change.
A physical change is reversible simply by changing the physical environment. In this example, cooling the wax down will bring it back to its original state.

The candle wax melts, this is a physical change because the wax reforms once heat is removed.

A Chemical change is not reversible unless energy is added to the system.
