The only way to get all the old stuff out is to install a flush & fill kit. It's an after market add on by Prestone. It splices into a heater hose, allowing you to add clean water while expelling old antifreeze. If you drain your radiator & refill it without the Flush & fill kit the engine is still full of old stuff.

Usually at the bottom of your radiator or on the side, you'll find a drain plug (similar to what would be used to drain your oil. Find this plug and unscrew it. Buy some radiator flush liquid from Wal-Mart, AutoZone, O'Reilly or somewhere else. Follow the directions on the bottle (usually use water and cleaner and let you engine run in idle until operating temp is reached, then drain when cool, and fill with proper water and antifreeze when done). You can repeat this process if you'd like to. Allow an hour or so to do all of this (unless you want to risk getting hot antifreeze or cleaner spilt on you). Be sure to put antifreeze in a large bowl and discard of properly!!

Every one has given excellent advice I'd like to add a point. Look up the cooling capacity of you system in your glove compartment hand book.
When filling your cooling system first, fill half the capacity with pure 100% antifreeze only. It may take time for the antifreeze to settle into the cooling system passages. You may need to start the motor for one minute to displace air bubbles. After that period of time fill the radiator with distilled water to the neck of the fill tube. Fill the coolant recovery bottle with the remainder of antifreeze and distilled water till it's 2/3 full.

unscrew the cap on top and then take out the plug from the bottom left hand side (right side of car, left for you looking at it) of the radiator. Use a garden hose to flush it out with water. Then plug back in and fill it up.
dont pull the plug while the engine is hot.

This merely happens with petrol engines while the top gasket has blown between the waterjacket and cylinder/s.the comparable with diesels ,different than for ingress in the process the injector sleeves. If the hot head gasket is equipped properly and the top checked, for monitoring on the diesel, besides as distortion on the two kinds of engine, you ought to have not any extra complication.this is often smart to in wonderful condition a clean thermostat while you're at it.sturdy success.
