Sounds like purify with an english accent.
It means to maker pure/ remove impurities.

"Purify" (pronounced pure - uh - fie) means to make clean, to free from guilt or moral corruption or anything alien or damaging.
As much as I've turned over your word in my head and said it aloud, I can't come up with anything else that it might remotely be. Sorry!
