Gandhi did not wanted it first but when he saw the conditions that it would not be easy for both the nations to live togather in peace , he agreed with it.....And it was basically for the nation........though it worked through politics but basic aim was in the best interest of nation !!! Well still there is some intolearnce between the two communities in india itself ..and if they had been living togather in united india then situation would have been the worse !i think this link would prove that Gandhi was right in accepting this reality !

And about his non-violence policy.......so i can only say that Gandhi was a greatest leader !

Gandhi realized that the Muslims in India wanted to be free of Hindu rule.....so he created Pakistan.

It was a good idea at the time, but the two nations have fought 5 wars since.....AND they can't settle Kashmir either.

In the end, he shouldn't of sperated the two peoples.

His non policy was effective because he was dealing with civilized people in the British. He appealed to their humanity. Had he been dealing with or Bin Laden, he would have been before he became famous.
