They have only been in a slump for the past few years. I don't think they are that bad considering the number 1 pick in the draft is an AFC team. Not to mention that the past two decades were dominated by two NFC teams, and that both those teams (49ers and Cowboys) are tied with only one AFC team for most Super Bowl Wins. You'll see next year when the NFC kicks major a$s.

It's called parody. This is why a salary cap is absolutely brilliant. Dependant upon what side of the league has the most cap issues, that's who usually dominates. It creates a cycle of where one conference wins for a period of time and then it switches up. Right now it's about due to swing into the favor of the NFC.

From looking at the overrall Super Bowl winners, it seems to me there is a cycle as well. From 1971 to 1981 the AFC won 9 out of 11. From 1982 to 1997 the NFC won 15 out of 16. From 1998 to 2007 the AFC has won 8 out of 10.

I don't think it's that the NFC is horrible. I think that there's so much parody in the NFC right now that you're going to have teams getting in with 8 win records. There's not one team that's really "dominate" in the NFC. A perfect example of this is that 4 out of the last 5 years a team from the NFC South has either been in the NFC Championship or been in the Super Bowl. And this applies to every team in that division. Tampa won the Super Bowl in 2002, Carolina went to the Super Bowl in 2003, Atlanta went to the NFC Championship in 2004, and the Saints went to the NFC Championship last year. If that's not parody I don't know what is.

I think he means they are bad in the way that a 7-9 team could have gotten into the playoffs this year and has been the case for the last few years, and 8-8 teams have gotten in the playoffs while in the AFC it is possible for a 10-6 team to get left sitting at home and if you are 9-7, for the past few years you could pretty much forget it. Why that is I dont know my best guess would be that the best GM's are in the AFC.

That opinion must be based on Super Bowl achievment lately, but than why not count 15 AFC teams as teams that suck too? The saints, Eagles, and Colts led the season in offense with the colts in 3rd place. Chicago led in Defence, along with Baltimore. The Cowboys, and 49ers both have 5 SB rings. Steelers r the only 5 ring team from the AFC. The truth is the AFC has alot of decent teams, but no amazingly great teams which averages everyone out, while the NFC has great teams that leave the rest in the dirt.

It's cyclical. Not too many years ago the NFC was the dominent conference. From 1981 through about 1996 I believe the Raiders were the only AFC to win a Super Bowl in 1983.
49'ers, Giants, Redskins, Cowboys, Packers all won Super Bowls. In fact, the NFC Championship was the more competitive game usually.

Well everyone in the AFC is better than those Detroit Lions. Even the Raiders.

But even the Strong teams from the NFC zuk, why? because you got the Bears(made theSB) who were suppost to lose to a weak cardinals team, then there are the Cowboys who got embarrast by the worst team the Detroit Lions, who thanks to the Cows, where moved from worst to second worst in the NFL. The Giants got killed time and time again by weak teams.

The AFC was down for several years and now it's the NFC's turn in the barrel.
