The number on the far left is the minimum.
The number on the far right is the maximum.

Year 1-8:
The minimum is the smallest number - 68.5
The median is the middle number - 70.6.
The maximum is the largest number - 72.3

The median splits the data into two groups now.

68.5, 69.4 and 71.3, 72.3
(The median is now removed.)

Next you find the median of each set. Because there are two numbers in each set of data, you have to find the mean of those two numbers. So the mean of 68.5 and 69.4 is 68.95. That is now the median of that set and is also Q1.

Then you find the mean of 71.3 and 72.3 to find Q3.

If there were three numbers, you would just have to find the middle number but every time there are even numbers, you have to find the average of the two middle numbers in order to find that median.

Remember that you should always arrange the numbers from smallest to largest before you find the median.

Repeat everything to do Year 11-18.

I took a ton of stat classes in college, grad school, and at work, but I had never heard of a box and whisker plot. However, when I searched, I found a site that seems to have a good explanation on how to do one. See reference below.

ok, the minimum is the mark on the left, then you certainly ought to choose what the max is employing the variety (putting that on the spectacular edge.) seventy 9 Then the field section- the decrease quartile first on the left- 40 two then the median, 60 and the better quartile you ought to discover via including the interquartile to the decrease 40 two+28=70. it is your field. good success!!
