For commercial modeling, you need to be about 5'9 or taller. For high fashion and editorial work, the standard is about 6 feet and above.

When you're in the 6'0 - 6'3 range, you are tall enough to be a model. 6'1 is basically perfect, I don't think another inch would help you in any way. What would help though is to have a lean body and most importantly, good looks. (Usually chiseled, defined bone structure, strong profile, etc..) If you have the looks, go for it. Height is not an issue now that you are 6'1, if you said 'I'm only 5'10 or 5'11' then height would be important.

At least 6ft (180cm) is the standard.

If you're very good-looking with great skin/hair etc, you might get away with being a bit shorter.
