I am 16 and I'm gay. I live on the east coast and was wondering what is a good city to more to where I would have a pretty happy life. I live in a small town where there is no chance of finding someone I would love. I heard San Fransisco is a good but thats on the west coast. What city would be good where HIV/AIDS isn't very abundent. The main thing I am worried about when moving into a city with alot of people is that there will be a lot of STDs. Please help me out. I need to know a good place to live.

The main thing I am worried about when moving to a pro gay city is STDs. What steps besides condoms can I take to protect my self?

Seattle, Washington is one of the most liberal cities in the USA. You may know us as the Starbucks City or the Space Needle City. It's one of the cleanest cities in the US as well. Our gay scene is amazing, at least from a fifteen year old's point of view. We're full of great music and bands. And most specifically is our gay neighborhood, Capitol Hill. Capitol Hill's got trendy thrift stores, awesome showhouses, and is chock full of cafes of pure awesomeness. We've got a great scene for whatever you're interested in, trust me.

I don't know about Seattle's HIV/AIDS dangers, but I know that if you're into the meth scene, then you're at risk for a new strain of HIV that is particularly resistant to HIV treatment drugs. Then again, many newspapers and magazines have cited Seattle as one of the healthiest places to live. So if you live in Seattle, you're generally safe so long as you don't participate in drug and sex marathons.

Washington DC has an extremely gay friendly neighborhood in it called "Dupont Circle". It is pretty expensive, though. Of course, there is San Francisco, too.

Sorry, bud, there are STDs everywhere. All you can do is keep a condom in your back pocket at all times and not dip your wick if you're at all suspicious.

ft worth, texas is a great place for what your looking for. The club scene is pretty cool for gays and there is a large gay population in the area. It is a pretty safe area as far as HIV and STDs. got some friends that live there and they love it. good luck to you.

Brighton the gay capital of the UK opps America eh.....erm try Beverley hills they have a high ratio of gay men plus because of their status I bet STd's are lower because the men try to hide their sexuality more and therefore are more discreet and careful I would imagine

San Diego - I lived there 4 years ago and they have an area called Hillcrest which is predominantly gay. Expensive to live there, tho.

canada hiv is low prevelance and they accept gays there are lots of gay and ways to avoid hiv is to not sleep with multiple partners and use condoms and you and your partner should be screened on a regular basis god bless.
