In a nutshell, every real number that is > 4.9 and < 5.12. You cannot actual say how many numbers this would be because it depends on how many decimal places you wish to make the numbers in between. Also, the numbers in between would be rational and irrational. The former can be expressed as an exact fraction. Irrational numbers have an infinite number of decimal places and cannot be expressed as an exact fraction. In mathematical symbols the numbers between 4.9 and 5.12 would be expressed as:

4.9 < x < 5.12, x E R

where x E R means x is an element of R and R is the set of real numbers. Note the E and R are written in a certain way and I can't type the proper symbols. You will find them in most maths text books.

This is sort of a tricky question.

It depends on how far you want to go 4.9 with any number after it, such as 4.91, 4.903, etc. would all be greater than 4.9 (Think 4.9 = $4.90 well then $4.92 would be more). You can keep adding numbers to the end.

Less than 5.12 would be 5.11 with any numbers after for example 5.118, 5.1109 etc.

That is because with decimals you can keep adding onto the end. I hope this makes since.

Now if they are making you state what decimals are between certain numbers rounded to a nearest place, I can give you a more specific answer:

Rounded to the nearest tenth = 5.0 - 5.1
Rounded to the nearest hundredth = 4.91 - 5.11

Everything over 4.9 and under 5.12
This includes 4.900000001 and 5.1199999
5.01 is the middle point of the two.

As they are giving you 5.12 then presumably you are to work to two decimal places.
Therefore 4.9 becomes 4.90!
So in between are 4.91,4.92,4.93,4.94,4.95,4.96,4.97,4.98,4.99,5.00,(5.01),5.02,5.03,5.04,5.05,5.06,5.07,5.08,5.09,5.10,5.11.
And by the way the one in the brackets is in the middle!
