Ethanol is not really viable as a "fuel of the future" because it costs as much (if not more) to produce as ordinary gasoline for the same amount of energy obtained from it. It's just a way of funneling money to the states that produce corn, which are (of course) "red states".

Gore is pushing a company to make him 'carbon netural'
he is also the CEO of it.
