So if my computer died and nothing is on the memory chip can I take it out and sell it???

hard drive no, Ram yes! your hard drive has files like credit card number, email accounts and other stuff! keep that! when you buy a new computer, you can take the HD and put it into new and use it like a nonremovable floppy disk! the ram stores nothing! all the ram stores the image after the processor processes it, after done viewing it is removed from the ram!

just for the record, the hard drive is a small silver box and the ram is about as thin as a credit card!! just so you know!!
