Intel has better performing processors, are a lot more expensive. On the other hand AMD aren't as fast as intel, but a lot cheaper.

Intel undoubtedly has the better processors, while Intel most obviously has more GHZ, AMD likes to pack more into less, so while an AMD may say 2.0ghz, and intel at 2.6 may be worse. BUT, Intel possessors are more reliable, take less energy, and more advanced. In some situations this may not be true, but for the same amount of money, an Intel will always beat an AMD

Its like this you can read benchmarks and opinions until you can't see but when it comes right down to it there both great PCUs. You get a good basic box(case) and start with a good motherboard, good hardware ,enough ram with either a Intel or AMD processor and you have a good computer.I guarantee you only a good benchmark software or high tech testing equipment could tell you the difference. All these personal opinions do not mean much ,those that bought Intel, like Intel, those that bought AMD like AMD.You choose the computer you like and know there both good. There are so many other factors that determine computer speed, connection, servers ,etc so get either or and you'll be fine

I think you should stay with the Dominant Intel Architecture. AMD works fine but only very few OEMS use the AMD archetecture.

Apple Uses Intel
Hewlett Packard uses Intel & AMD
DELL = Intel & AMD , but the AMD Pc is expensive

as of right now, intel has the better high end chips as far as performance, but if you buy two similarly priced chips from each company, they'll likely perform close to the same
