Both the catholics and protestants in northern Ireland seem to be getting over their difficulties at long last. Whilst Eire has been independant since the thirties. if you are talking about the union of north (six counties) with ireland then personally I don.t mind one way or the other. Great people whichever side of the border you happen to be standing.

Ireland must decide it's own destiny.Britain had no right to annexe Ireland or any other state, in the past. The protestant ascendancy which has prevailed for so long in N. Ireland must accept the wishes of the majority of the population and if the majority want unity with the UK then so be it. If the majority want to be no part of the UK and united with the Republic of Ireland then all concerned must accept that decision.
