G'day,

For Australia, the best way will be to use IDP Education Australia's website (www.idp.edu.au). IDP is an organisation that gives info for international students who want to continue their study in Australia.

There are only 39 universities in Australia, therefore the quality and recognition of their graduates are equal from wherever university you are studying from. The most important thing is you have to READ the course information carefully, since some courses may have the same name but different content.

Hope this helps. E-mail me at mikegun@studentfirst.com.au if you more questions abt study in Australia. Good luck on your study :)

I studied linguistics at Essex University. It has one of the highest ratings in the UK.
PS You don't say where you come from. Actually this is very important for people to know in order to give you the best advice.
Edit; Wow. Congratutions for coming from Vietnam and studying in Wales. I went to Vietnam (and spent five years living in Asia), and know it must have been very difficult for you to learn English in the first place. I really hope you succeed.

hi,

York uni has a very good reputation for linguistics and is one of the top unis in the UK. Also consider Salford uni, I'm a language student there and some of my friends are studying linguistics there, they absolutely love it!

Stanford has a good linguistic department, and a nice international community.

Also try searching

i think the best is UQ university of Queensland. Or Bond University has a better name and international community.

Well, this depends much on your specific research interests being phonology, phonetics, morphology, syntax, or semantics! It also depends on the approach you'd like to follow: theoretical, functional, or applied?!
Generally speaking, the leading affordable ones are Indiana Bloomington, Wisconsin Madison, Ohio State, and Kansas among many others. Good luck!
