My life is miserable, and I am in debt, I owe $17,545.00 at Chicago State University and they want their money now or they are going to sue me. And I owe $5,452.00 on this Chase Visa credit card and all they do is charge me for payment protection plan. And I have an outstanding phone bill, and I have another credit card that is Capital One. All I did was use the credit card on gas. They both have my social security number.

Can I please go to heaven?

Do you want me to stay alive?

Yes I want you to live!! Poor money management does not make you a bad person. I don't know what your resources are so it's impossible for me to find a plan. So, first thing you need to do is talk to the University - see how much you can pay at a time to keep you out of court. Do you have a job? If not-find one. You have to start paying people or you'll never get out this. Don't use any more credit!!

I know that this probably sounds stupid but this really isn't a lot of money to pay off.

Yes it will take time but you can do it.

The first thing that you need to do is get rid of the credit cards and don't get any more till your in the black again. If you can't afford it, go with out it till you can.

Talk to the people at the school and tell them your situation. Tell them that you intend to pay the debt if they will work with you.

This great ecomomy they keep telling us about has a lot of people in the same position you are in.

Its not worth dieing over even if it seems like it is.

Love and blessings Don

It is my understanding that there are no student loans, credit cards or IRS in heaven so if you decide to go there I envy you but please email me to let me know if I was right about this.

I do want you to stay alive BTW but there are agencies who will help you resolve your student loans. Just check your bulk mail file, I get this kind of crap all the time.

Yes and yes. There are so many people with so much more debt than you. Their are some in the 100's of thousands of dollar range of debt. Our debt is in the range of yours and though it drives me crazy trying to pay it down. I also realize that my husband did not get us there by himself, I too contributed.
