Me and my fiance decided to have our baby shower co-ed, but aren't exactly sure what we should have as far as food, drinks, games... he wants to have beer for his buddies (but promises to keep it under control), and we'd still have some of the typical baby shower games. Any ideas?

This is going to sound silly....but how about for the first hour there be a Co-ed poker game. Buy in would be a package of diapers for each participant?? The winner would get a nice prize....gift certificate or something.

After the poker game is over....enjoy some food as a co-ed group and then the guys can go drink beer and flex their muscles (or whatever guys would do at these functions) while the girls played some more baby-shower esque games and opened all those adorable pajamas and other baby items!!

I have some suggestions for more sentimental and less silly games for the shower, if you like (I put the link below).

If it is the right kind of group....a poker game might be fun and the new parents will get tons of diapers!! Everyone "wins".

Hope, maybe, that helped!! (I could do a poker-themed diaper cake...never done one before but it could be a fun one!!)

I would probably steer clear away from the beer, because it isn't really necessary. I am sure that they can behave for a few hours without it. I think if you make it more like a celebration instead of a whole bunch of women going goo-goo over some booties then you should be OK. We ate, had a DJ, and played games. We opened the gifts together and made the corny bow and ribbon hats for each of us to wear after the presents were open.

Another idea could be based on location. A friend of mine had her baby shower at a bowling alley. The guys went and bowled while we opened gifts. I think that it is important to include the men in the activity, but beer at a baby shower is not tasteful. Plus, you can't drink it and that should be reason enough for it not to be there. They will have the bachelor party to drink.

I had a "couples" shower when I had my son. It went really well.
It was in late summer so we had it outdoors and had a barbacue.
We didn't really play any baby shower games. The guys played horse shoes and stuff like that and the women mostly sat around and talked. The game that the guys and the girls could play is the one where you get some baby food and peel off the labels and have everyone taste and smell the food and guess what flavor it is.
You also could get some realistic baby dolls and have the men see who can change the baby the quickest. you put babyfood in the diaper and put it on the dolls bottom and they got to wipe the dolls bottom and everything.

I went to a co-ed shower and they did the guess how big around the mother is game and there was a drinking conest- they put like 2-3 oz of beer in each little baby bottle and the person who finished first won.

I had a co-ed baby shower. The men stayed out in the bar, and the women played the games and stuff... Just treat it like a party, and it'll be fine. The men can play the games if they want, just don't force them. So, have fun at your baby shower, good luck w/ your pregnancy, and God bless!!!

My sister and I are having our baby shower on the same day since we are 1 month apart from due dates. Its going to be co-ed and the theme is a luau, a Hawaiian theme. We are going to have a tiki bar, leis, and any kind of food you can barbecue. I think its a great theme and idea. As long as you have beer at yours then the guys should be fine, lol. Good luck.

i have co-ed games in mind from past showers I've been to... you can have baby dolls wearing diapers and have the men change them as soon as possible, blind folded, fill bottles with beer and see who finishes first, you can fill diapers with melted chocalate candy bars and have them sniff or taste to guess what candy bar is in there. My favorite game is having them put o quarter in between their knees and having to walk acrosss the room and trying to drop it in a small shot glass.. it's hilarious. Of course everyone can play the games.

I wouldn't put men through this kind of hell. The hokey games, the decorations, girl food - no way. Just make it a regular party if you want men there. They are so not into all the fru-fru crap. Neither am I. Barbecue, beer, and thank you for the gifts. Everyone will love you for being different and real. And the celebration of your baby will be MORE FUN for the men too.

Diaper your mate Game:
Females/males have 30 seconds to diaper their mate using a cloth diaper(or sheet)and giant safety pins!
Name that baby food:
Disposable diapers filled with various baby foods. Pass around and people smell the food and try to guess what it is. NO MIXED FOODS to be fair. Great photos for scrapbook!
