When it is not legalized in big countries like India and U.S. then it may have some valuable point

policy makers are not fools.

Is something wrong with u guys? Prostitution should not be legalised! Yeah, sure, people are saying "yeah, they're gonna be doing it anyway" (bet its mostly guys) but making it legal will show that we recognise and support and consent to this horrible act! What will our children of this day, and the next generation do when we let this legalised?! We are letting them think that it is okay to sell our bodies for money, showing them the easy way to get money, not only are we descending in modesty and ridding our children of their innocent childhood (by advertising adult clothing in child sizes) we are ruining the chance to give our children a stable and safe environment (psychologist - its the environmental factors that makes us who we are and will become)

i think prostitution should be legal, IF IT IS STRICTLY MONITORED. Did you know that prostitution use to be SUPPORTED by the church? They thought it was a neccessary for healthy and monotony. Prostitution should be legal, if the purchaser is tested for diease b4 sex, and the prostitute tested for disease b4 as well, legit documents stating that both of them are clean. I mean prono is legal, what is that but legal prostitution (my half borther is a **** star, and says they get tested b4 every take, this also doesn't mean that I support him in his dicision to be a **** star, I mean he has a mind that's going to waste, and he knows it). Woman are like but no my man will go sleep with another woman, well let him and then dump his sorry ***, that means he doesn't love you, and it's a good thing you found out. I would never go with a man that was with a prostitute, I would never be a prostitute, I would never go to a prostitute, and it would really just help me weed out the bad guys lol

I dont thing prostitution is a right thing. No body can stop that. But it should be legalised with some strict conditions like having decent approach, not disturbing the public, using prevention measures while so that sexual deceases may reduced in the society.

yes it should be legal then the prostitute male or female could be checked and tested on a regular basis and hopefully find a disease before they spread it to far. and if found with a disease taken off the street till cured. but like anything that is legal there will be ways around the system so a card would be issued to those who are being tested and those who don't have a card well then they would hopefully less likely to get customers. and have the color of the card change on a monthly basis after they have been tested and found disease free.

Yes, It is the oldest known profession on earth, In US there are two states the buying and selling of sexual services is legal. The term prostitution refers to the act of having sexual intercourse, or performing other sexual acts, explicitly for material compensation—normally money, but also other forms of property, including drugs, expensive clothing, jewelery, or real estate. Having multiple clients at the time is not required for being classified as prostitute, but normally is included. A woman who engages in sexual intercourse with one man for support may be distinguished as a mistress. The term may be used, loosely, to indicate someone who engages in sexual acts that are disapproved of -- whether acts outside of marriage, or as a means to an affluent life style or the status associated with the customer (sometimes inside marriage). Cultural usage varies widely, and the use of the term as a pejorative means that it is used to indicate many acts that are not formally considered prostitution in a cultural context.

This question can be answered in both the ways.
Yes because practically thinking these practices without legalisation become a means of drug dealing.
No because this may lead to the uncurable disease AIDS.

Yes, as long as it is over age 18 and consensual, and possibly regulated (i.e. safe sex). This is a free market economy and should be treated as such. It is not my place to decide everybody's morals, even though I don't like the thought of legal prostitution. Make sex workers pay income taxes like everyone else.

Yes

It would remove the money going into organised crime

It would mean government could tax/regulate it and give out free condoms to stop STDs

Licences would be required, so the police could crack down on pimping/trafficking

It would allow legal brothels to be set up, to get kerb-crawlers off the street, out of the way of danger.

Except that Govt. can have revenue - Professional Tax/Service Tax/Income Tax, nothing special about it.
As AIDS awareness is there nowadays, people are conscious of their health.
In the modern age of adultery, there is no need for leagalisation. You can observe this from various questions in the site.
