How do you these teams will do in the World Cup, and do you think they should even be in it when they don't play test cricket?

they will go about as well as we all expect-no good,im not 100% convinced they should be in the world cup, reasons for-

#playing in the world cup against the best will give them good experience and help them improve.

#it helps the game of cricket by creating interest in countries that don't normally follow cricket, hopefully in the long term creating new cricketing nations.

#creates a bigger t.v audience and boosts the number of teams in the cup so it actually looks like a WORLD cup

the against argument-

#lowers the standard of the world cup,we should be seeing the best cricket possible not the worst.

#teams should have to qualify for a world cup not just be an automatic inclusion because they sign up,same as you have to qualify for the soccer world cup.

#they should be at a standard where they can compete at an international level on a regular basis not just get a go every 4 yrs in the world cup,how is this fair to other cricket playing countries who play long tours all year-year after year.

anyway these are just some of my thoughts, but who am i to judge, good luck to all teams involved BRING ON THE CUP.

Scotland is in the minor counties league with the likes of Dorset and Devon. If you as a COUNTRY don't warrant even being in the major counties league then the World Cup seems a very strange idea.

Ireland are a lot better than people give them credit for, even if England have nabbed Edmund Joyce off of them, they nearly pulled off an upset win over South Africa who are number one in the world in one of their warmup games, VERY nearly.

Kenya aren't bad either, they got into the second stage last time, knocking out a test nation in the process. But Bermuda, Canada and Scotland? Let's face it, in order to play the competition properly you need 16 teams. Only 9 Teams (Aus, Eng, Ind, Pak, Sri Lanka, NZ, S Africa, the Windies and Bangladesh) play at test level and you can't play a tournament that is fair or easy to follow with 9 teams. Most of the others are making up the numbers.

Although I'd watch out for Holland, they hold the world record for the highest ever total in an ODI.

I think they should play in the world cup, after all its the WORLD cup, 5 years ago they said that Bangladesh should not play but look at them now, look at Sri Lanka, they won in 1996, every team must be given the opportunity to play and gain the experience. After all its not only about "lets see who is strong and who is weak" The ICC should also give them more opportunities to play with the test playing nations. Realistically you cant expect them to perform at the level of other test playing countries, but you can certainly expect them to perform "their best", which matters the most. like they say " you got to learn how to walk before you run"

I'm Scottish and most people in Scotland don't have much interest in cricket, doesn't mean we shouldn't have a team and play though.

Looking back history of world cup, the not ranked teams they made many spectacular results, because they won't have pressure. So we can expect some good results from these above team
