It is not a legal requirement if you are the one inhabiting the house you own and not renting any part of it out.
It's always a good idea to get it done though, safer that way

Hiya ,i am a landlord, and yes if you rent a property out to someone you have to have the boiler serviced and certificated by a corgi registered repairer every 6 months.
They will also have to check the cooker as well.
If you dont rent property you do not have to get the boiler serviced, but i suppose its best too.

I have never heard of any such law. I have had mine for many years now and only have serviced or repaired when needed. I have a gas boiler and rarely does it need any work. Opps, I am speaking in reference to home heating, if you you mean for industrial or commercial boilers, that might be another story. I would contact you local heating contractor or supplier for that information

If you are renting your property out, you have a legal requirement to have a certificate of inspection on all gas appliances in the property.

This must be done yearly by a corgi registered fitter.

If you are in rented accommodation the landlord must have all gas equipment checked each year and leave you with a certificate. if you own your own home it is not a legal requirement just a sensible option.

You are required by many insurance companies to maintain your electrics and gas etc. Small print in the policy may make policy void if no maintenance carried out.
