It can ruin your entire day when someone says something critical of you.
It doesn't have to be true (in fact, it's more likely to irritate you if it's false).
It doesn't matter if it's something you can do nothing about (you're too tall, your nose looks funny, whatever).
It doesn't matter if they try to make a joke of it. It doesn't matter if they're telling you something for your own good.
We don't need to live in a PC world, we don't need to sugar coat stuff, but we also don't have to give our opinions when they aren't solicited.

1. Overcontrol. When people come and check me all the time. It really wrecks my day. It's not insignificant for me, but it's one of the only things that do.
2. No reading for 2 hours.
3. Also the love of my life, he can wreck my whole day with just a mean smirk.
I have always wanted to be so independent, but as I'm growing more and more, I realize I stopped pretending I am. And now I admit to myself that I know nothing.

I wish I wasn't this way but sometimes it just takes one little thing to put me in a bad mood & once in a bad mood it snowballs.
When I'm on no sleep everything seems worse! I work shiftwork (days & nights) so I often end up with only a couple hours of sleep & then if one little thing goes wrong at work (a snide remark from a co-worker or a difficult caller etc) I snap.
A couple of weeks ago, I had left my garbage on top of a snowbank & it wasn't picked up. I hate that! My town is very fussy with garbage. It's like a test. If you put things in the wrong bag or in the wrong spot apparently they refuse to take it. Which is a pain because then I have to haul it back into the garage which is small & i can barely walk by my car as it is. So I called the town about the garbage & she said put it back out the next day in the same spot. So I did & they didn't pick it up. Then I called back & she said that they weren't going to pick it up, they just wanted to see what I had done wrong! So I ended up carrying my garbage back & forth 4 times for nothing!
Silly little things like this will get to me sometimes! I'm a control freak. I like order & dislike chaos. I like beauty & dislike ugliness. The garbage represents ugliness, disorder & clutter in my life & it's cleansing to be rid of it, to be stuck with it for another week stresses me out. Maybe it's because my mother's house is a disaster & always put me on edge. Now that I have my own house I have to have it clean & organized so that I can relax. I believe that there is something to feng shui. I think your home has an energy & when this can flow properly you feel at peace, when the energy is stifled you become stressed & irritable.
Anyway, I'm babbling & you asked a simple question! Ha ha.
Coles notes version of my story:
They didn't pick up my garbage & it ruined my day!

Only one? LOL.
So much depends on your POV/outlook on life. There are days that can go down the tubes over something really stupid, but there are also days where you can handle all the curves that life throws you without a problem.
The question shouldn't be the thing that can wreck your entire day, but what frame of mind where you in when that thing happened?

I won't say that it can entirely wreck the day, but breaking a shoe lace the very first thing seems to portend a bad day.

Hateful attitude- Whether it's from someone I know or even a stranger- I start feeling that old negative part of my brain start kickin in and the next thing you know I'm snappy and can't see the light of day.

When the kids come over and start messing up the house or when my Granddaughter starts getting into my stuff. It is really petty I know but I like my space and my things left alone. Unless asked no one should be getting into my stuff!

I dropped my last Hostess Cupcake on the floor, which I was going to have with my first cup of coffee and it bummed me out and I went into a depression for about five years.
Thank God for donuts !!
