As with most USB devices, First you have to install the software from your CD-ROM that came along with your data cable, ONLY after installing the driver software you should connect the Cable to the computer. If you have further problem contact your vendor or mail me with exact details. if you dont have the driver CD then you can download the driver from this link http://www.nokia.com.au/nokia/0,,86935,00.html

I would check the website, or contact the manufacturer. Many times, you can get driver help over the web.
