Can anyone tell me how thick the earths crust is around Mount St Helen's? also does anyone know: how deep the earths upper mantle and lower mantle is around that area? or how far it is from the top of the earths crust to the earths core is? or what a good website for finding out this kind of stuff? any information about the earths crust / mantle / core is welcome!! (sorry about the weird questions! I'm doing a geography project on going to the centre of the earth!)

crust about 20km
mantle, not sure but prob same as rest of world
lots of good questions here, cant tell them of top of head.
try searching earths structure
average continental crust thickness is 15 km, oceanic 7km, because st helens is a mountain its thicker than normal continental crust. mantle thickness is pretty much uniform, and youll be able to get a depth to core from sea level, then addd the height of St H.
look in a good intro to earth structure book to get loads of info, or searcg earth structure on net
