Okay, Christian Bale began the movie saying that nobody else could do the trick he had in mind. This trick was: The Original Transported Man. He said this because his secret was that he did have an identical twin brother. Not a clone. There was no point to the red rubber ball. His twin did get hung, there was no escaping that. The twin's brother was not in jail and was disguised as the twin's good friend. After the twin was hung the other brother went and got his daughter back. He was, indeed the father, because this was the one brother that loved Sarah, the woman who hung herself. This is why he told her if he loved her that day or "not today" because on the days that he didn't, the guy who said that was the brother that would later be hung.

Christian Bale had a twin brother in the movie. The red ball was the ball that they used for the magic trick. When they hung him, he actually died, which is why the other brother shoots Hugh Jackman at the end of the movie.

Christian Bale had a twin from the beginning. It was the guy that would follow him around. Yes the twin really did get hung, he replaced his twin who was the dad to the little girl. The rubber ball was just a favorite toy that he would play magic with and merely demonstrated how good he was at magic.

Christian Bale had a twin brother.

Hugh Jackman had a clone.

The red rubber ball is metaphoric.

That is a great movie but all i undersand is,

These magicians did a water escape wih a girl and she drowned because the one guy tied the wrong knot on purpose i think, and then he tries to do a bullet catch and the girls fiance is in disguise and he shoots the bullet at the mans leg, so then he guy that shot the other guy (hugh jackman) does a trick when 2 people hold a cage wih a pigeon and then they press where they are holding and the guy that got shot, pushes it a different way and smushes the pigeon and the ladys fingers, and then i guess the rubber ball is like the guys simble of magic, not (hugh jackman) though, but then he goes to jail and (hugh jackman) is taking care of his daughter i guess and wants to know how to do a trick and threatens his daughter.

sorry thats all i know.

The twins took turns living the life of ONE. They each loved separate women. One twin tied the wrong knot, which resulted in Hugh jackman's wife's drowning. At the funeral, and throughout the moveie, Hugh Jackman was insenced as to why Christian bale's character could not tell him which knot he tied.... ti was because he asked the wrong twin.

Awesome movie. Go and watch it again and you will get it.
