It depends on the situation. If there are say 2 or 3 other kids in your household, it is an absolute necessity for schoolwork, and is something that you need. However, if you are an only child, there is no need to have your own PC, and even if you say you'll use it for college, it will be obselete by then anyways.

NO WAY. I have friends who are 11 and are getting laptops for there bdays. And one of my friends has 1 computer and a laptop and he is never ever going to be spoiled
