No they would not, Is there a reason that you have not tried other things like debt advise etc as bankrupt will effect you for the next 6 years and also may effect what job you do and any future ones

The simple answer is no, 'they' would not take your passport away.
Your passport is a legal document that you have paid for, and it will become important in the months following your notice of bankruptcy because you will probably have to make changes to your financial arrangements - some of which will require evidence of identity.

That's about all you'd have left. If possible, work out a repayment plan so that you don't file bankruptcy. Once a bankruptcy shows up on your credit report, it could affect not only your future employment but also your ability to purchase or get credit for the next several years.

No they won't. Your passport has nothing to do with how much money you have. All they can do is ask you to return items bought with credit cards, such as furniture, exercise equipment etc.

No, it has nothing to do with your financial position. But your credit standing is going to be hurt and I believe it takes like seven years before you can apply for credit.
