If you have a blown head gasket, or cracked head, it could be going in to engine. Check engine oil dipstick, is it milky, like white and "gooey"? Check it.

Depending on when the car cools, the thermostat opens to let the water thru to cool and may have sucked up some coolant. Then when it closes some may poor back in.

Also check your oil and if there is any white stuff on the dip stick then you have a cracked block and water is leaking in.

I would definitely keep an eye on your water level though. After you have driven it open up the hood and see if you notice any water leaks on the engine. Then when you go shopping notice under the engine when you get back if you see ANY water leaks. You could get a pinhole leak in the rubber hose like I did. Had this problem for a year nearly then the hose finally REALLY blew. And I discoved my leak was on the top hose but underneath it. So I guess the water was squirting away from the hose and I was constantly looking toward the bottom of the engine. I attributed the water on the hose to the fan splashing the water from the bottom somewhere.

i own a repair shop and if it is using a lot of coolant its possible it may be going through the engine,if it has a blown head gasket in a water jacket it will do this ,and you wont even notice it in the running apart of it ,i have seen a lot of them do that before,if your putting over a half a gallon a week in it,then its real possible that's where its going, also keep an eye on the oil in it,and make sure it doesn't have and odd color to it ,like a milky look, its most likely the head gasket that is gong bad on, it and this can be checked ,they can run a pressure check on it,and determine if its leaking, and if there is a leak they may also be able to find it real easy, could be a simple hose with a pin hole in it,or something more simple than that, but you wont know until it has been checked out real good, good luck with it,i hope this helps.

DId you verify the cab heating aspect? likely no longer once you've moisture interior your truck it truly is the position your leak is, the heating rad on your cab. reliable indication it truly is getting contained in the engine is checking your oil, coolant and oil do not mixture properly so that you will manage to make certain obviously in case your coolant is leaking in for your engine. yet another issue may be that you're literally not blending it suitable, A suburban runs rather warm, larger than maximum vehicles and is a reliable theory to mixture the coolant as recommended by technique of the producer.

it's losing coolant somewhere, and when it cools down, it sucks it out of the overflow tank back into the radiator to keep it full. Check for leaks, it could be internal or even a heater core, does it smell funny in the car?

You can add Bars Leak to the radiator to stop it temporarily, but it makes a oily mess in your radiator and coolant tank

typically cooling system,s will mark their own full level, & reject any excess......reguardless of the marking,s on your resovouir......their marked on there as a guide.....although usually fairly accurate.....but not in every instance.........it would reject such excess at operating termerature.....while your driving....through a discharge tube.......so not much evidence would be left to examine........but if your in doubt......have your cooling system pressure tested......this can be done at your local radiator shop.........good luck!

Go stick your finger in the tailpipe, then smell it. If it smells like antifreeze, then Huston you have a problem.
