Do you actually need skirting board? or is there just to look good?

Some insurance company's won't cover your mobile / trailer home without skirting in place. And the skirting does help. It will keep cold air from blowing beneath the trailer and this will help some with heat loss and pipes freezing (you still need to insulate them). Also it will help keep wild animals from nesting in the insulation that is exposed on the bottom. And it does look better.

I don't like vinyl skirting. It cracks easily after prolonged sunlight and weather exposure. I like to use sheets of corrugated galvanized steel.
