FRACTIONS TO DECIMALS
divide the numerator by the denominator.
ex.
1/2 1 divided by 2 is .5 so 1/2 in decimals is 0.5
1/4 1 divided by 4 is .25 so 1/4 in decimals is 0.25

DECIMALS TO FRACTIONS
kinda more difficult to explain.

a million) 35/ fifty six = (5 * 7) / (7 * 8) so which you will eliminate portion of 7 from the two the numerator and the denominator 35/fifty six = 5/8 Now you the two use a calculator or do the long branch to get a decimal equivalence. 2) use proportions or ratios to set this up 0.8 / 40 = a million / x go multiply 0.8 x = 40 divide via 0.8 x = 40/0.8 = 50

use the calculator, normally under accessories, after you click on start. Fraction are easily converted to decimal. but converting decimal to fractions may be a lot more difficult. if you use Excel, click on a cell, and right click and select Format Cells, select Number from top Tab, select Factions. When you type a decimal into that cell it will give you a fraction.
