As long as Mark Cuban is their owner, they'll be cursed. I would love it if they were eliminated in the 1st round, but as long as they don't win the championship, I'm fine with that.

They have their best chance yet, but they're not the only hot team in the West right now! San Antonio and Utah both have season long win streaks going. It's really about who can carry the most momentum into the post season. I'm not entirely sure the Dallas Mavericks can maintain their roll.
Also, there is a reason they've won 16 straight and it's not all Dirk Nowitski. Regardless of what some people might think, they are unquestionably the deepest team in the NBA and get contributions from many role players.

It all comes down to if they can stay consistent throughout the playoffs. If they are playing like they are right now in the playoffs, they most likely will win the championship. But, they could end up falling apart like the pistons did last year. But I don't see that happening. The thing with this team is that anybody can get injured and they can still win (Not including Dirk Nowitzki). I think that since the East is so weak, the hardest part will be getting to the NBA Finals again. They will have to get past Phoenix or San Antonio. Then, all they will have to worry about at the most is Detroit, Cleveland, or Chicago (I'm not saying it won't be a little challenging.) The key basically is to not do what Detroit did last year and just stay consistent throughout the playoffs.

It's not that they never do, it's that having the best record doesn't guarantee it. The majority of teams that have the best record do, like the 2003 spurs, 2000 lakers, and jordan's bulls. The Mavs will most likely win more than 65-67 games, which hasn't happened since the 2000 lakers and if you check you will see that pretty much all teams that win hit or surpass the 65 win mark have won the championship.

Well alot of teams that have the best regular season win the championship, but I think it comes down to they have to come out of the west which is the toughest conference this year. They most likely wont make it to the west conference finals this year I think San Antonio or Phoenix, even the Houston Rockets who have Yao Ming back will get their. So no the Mavericks will not win the championship.

The western conference is pretty thick with competition. Phoenix with steve nash and amari. Then you have the spurs with parker and duncan. So, you never know whats going to happen. But I think it might be the Mavs year.

THey won't be able to win because Dirk Nowitzki will be guarded at all times, so unless somebody else stops up, they lose to the suns or spurs.
