They're decent, not actually that great.
New England Revolution were pretty talented before but they've lost Dempsey to the Premier League. DC United are the most winningest team in terms of who's won the league the most.
I'd wager to say the Galaxy may just be ahead of the pack at 3rd or 4th best, but I wouldn't say they're the strongest team in the MLS. Donovan is overrated and the former USA international Jones is really old; Beckham will definitely give the team a boost, maybe enough to be on top of the league again, but whether they stay there is another matter. The Galaxy were champions two years ago and then this past year didn't even make the playoffs.

It's the best team in the USA but a team from English League 1 will wipe the floor with them. I am going to watch them on July 21 against Chelsea, getting tickets next week.

I think Beckham will bring a marquee value and profesionalism to the MLS which it does need.
Becks will give it his all and score 10 goals a season and be one of the best players in the league. But it'll spell death for his England career.

Talent wise they are top
Landon Donovan
Becks
and Quavas Kirk in midfeild
they just got Nate Jaqua from Chicago, one of the top strikers in the league
Chris Albright on defence is talented
Joe Cannon in goal is decent
Dallas, Houston and New York are very good as well. It should be an exciting season

they are one of the best teams in the USA... not the best but, with Beckham they will be really good!!!

American soccer is nowhere near as good as "football" is in Europe.
Beckham is at a stage in his career where he does not have to prove anything on the field. He went after the $$ in America. Personally, I can not blame him.
