Uh, you are being a bit unrealistic, sweetie.

I'm "Assuming" You literally mean a REAL live tree eating Giraffe, right?!

Or are you playing with words?! Because it sounds to me like you are playing.

You can get your friend a stuffed girrafe, if that's what you want to get her.
It still sends the correct message to her, ie; I like you. You are my friend and this is how special you are to me.

This is really what you're asking, isn't it?!

Ps.:
Do not put names on this site. Especially if you are who you say you are.
It is very dangerous. You could be giving a predator the opportunity to abuse you.
Take better care to keep your, and your friends, identity private so nothing bad happens to you, sweetie.
We don't want to read about you in the daily news. Ok?!

Blessings!!

Well, everybody's got the wild hair or two! You're not crazy, though. I think that a giraffe would not like to live in Bothell. I live in the Northwest too and it's a little too rainy here. A giraffe needs to live in a nice warm climate. Also the food it eats grows in Africa and other places like that. At the zoo they are able to afford top of the line care and food. Maybe a stuffed/toy one would be better. Another thing that would prevent you from getting this giraffe is the cost and size of it; since they are both very large. Now, if you're thinking about adopting as in one of those things where they send you a picture, name, info on a real life giraffe in your name, i think that's a really good idea.Good Luck.

Claire, there is nothing in the world as precious as having a bestest, best Friend. You are very, very Lucky to have Alyssa. I can't help wonder though how the Giraffe would feel about living with Alyssa, and not being able to hang with his pals on the great plains of Africa and munching on tall trees. There are lots of ways to show Alyssa how much she means to you, how about a really neat picture, or book about Giraffes. Maybe the two of you could form the national Save the Giraffes fund for underprivileged Giraffes.

I think it is an excellent idea, but I doubt you could afford to buy a giraffe. They are quite expensive.

Honestly, stick to something small. There is no way you can have a happy friend AND a happy giraffe. Besides, you're probably not allowed to own a giraffe anyways. They ARE wild animals, after all. Why don't you adopt one through one of those "save the animals" programs? That way, you're helping animals in need, but you don't need to literally take care of one.

crazy, no.

caring and stuff yes. As to getting your friend a giraffe i really don't think it is that appropriate (if legal even, not sure).

just go with a stuffed toy giraffe or something. It is the thought that counts

I must say for an 11 year old your writing skills are superb (unless you have an adult writing it out for you).

Anyway, unfortunately the closest thing your going to get for giraffe is at the zoo or the circus. We humans can't have those kinds of animals as pets.

You can always go to toys'r'us and talk to their mascot geoffrey.

if your only 11 thats not a good idea, a giraffe would rather be in its own habitat, where it will be happier and live longer in its enviroment + its way too expensive, your parents will never agree. trust me

A giraffe would be a lot of work. You should consider a hippo instead.
