yesterday, my car all of the sudden lost all of its power. Then engine light is on. It speeds up so slow so I took it to the dealers and they said it was accelerator censor or something. I never heard of anything like this. What could be the cause of it?

The sensor is also known as TPS [Throttle Positioning Sensor]

You don't say what year or make of vehicle. From the mid 90's and up, vehicles have computers which rely on sensors to make decisions with. If your engine computer is getting wrong information from a sensor, it will not operate correctly. Dealerships have test modules to get fault codes out of your cars computer. Need to take it to one, or independent shop that has same type of equipment.

I'm no expert but the same sort of thing happened to me once. Apparently an alternator was broken, which transfers your engine's energy into electrical current. This makes the car's battery do all the work, and eventually run dead.
