As a fellow teacher, i often listen intently on what our younger generations have to say. It is interesting to note how passionate they are for change and how they so easily forgive those who do harm to them. As an adult i find change hard and forgiving extremely difficult. Though i feel that i have gained experience in life compared to my youthful self, I do wish that i could go back to find such mental ease and content to help me with issues that surround me today. For me, the children of today are extremly perceptive and intuitive, more wise than I.

Experience, an open mind, and hard lessons that we are forced to work through, are what make us wise. You have wisdom already, by allowing yourself to listen and hear, the generation of, today. You show this quality, by appreciating those, who are up coming in today's society. The ignorant, choose to close themselves off, to what others think and say, and hold a narrow opinion. Yes, you possess wisdom, and it lives within you.

Wisdom comes with experience. I think you are seeing in our children and grandchildren as much different that our generation because of just that....you're older and wiser. But, the kids today have had it much different. It used to be that the generational gap wasn't so distant because the world was moving ahead at a snails pace. But since the industrial age the world has move quite quickly and our children are learning at a most astounding speed. Information is flashed by them constantly via music, computer, t.v.ipods, cell phones, etc. They have access to the world. When I was a teenager having access to where the next party was took more time and I had less avenues to get the information. Those parties were totally different than todays. Todays influences for our children are much more negative in this regard.
I believe learning to bend as we get older is very very important. Forgiveness is another issue. It depends on what needs to be forgiven but I do believe that one can see a narrow path and believe that is all there is. Open up your mind and possibilities and see what happens. I also believe that our generation is going to make growing older much more fun and alive than the generations before them. Just think, the baby boomers are the first generation to truly be lucky enough to have all the best right at our finger tips.

We all feel that way. Their time is now. The only world they have ever known, is the span of their brief lives. They see the possibilities and the opportunities.

We, on the other hand have seen our failures, and our short comings. We know that there is not a universe of possibilities for us and, in some cases, the opportunities have slipped away. We become bitter or resigned. We have accepted life on its own terms. They have not.

Now, who is the most wise?

I agree with you . We are wiser than we give ourselves credit for when we are children. When we are most wise would be when you are able to live like a child yet still have the knowledge and skills of an adult. That is when we are the most wise. If anyone would like to converse with me more you could e-mail or message me.

there is not an exact time, an exact age when you are most wise. wisdom is not inherited, and contrary to popular belief, i do not believe it comes with experience. wisdom is a peculiar thing, an unexplained mystery of our universe. it has a definition, but the real definition remains clouded. it is like the purpose of life, why we die....maybe we are not meant to know. my personal opinion is that we are most wise in our sleep, when we can dream and cross all borders. when we roam free and let our brain wander through the stars and the heavens.

Most people are most wise when aspirations that were formed as a response to accepted responsibilties has lead them to the knowledge of good and evil and so give way to ever more desirable and fulfilling achievements

you are most wise when you want to be wise...

.... but on a serious note

you are most wise when you have gone through and experienced the most of your life's hardships and happinesses
keep in mind that you learn from your mistakes

you are old when you are most wise
but keep in mind that you will not be able to share your wiseness when your are a crazy old senile man but i believe that you, in your mind, will still be very wise. when senile you have the knowledge to be wise but your brain is so old and used that you cannot in your current state of mind access that knowledge..

... just some thoughts, hope i helped.

Innocence can be a time of bliss or fear. I was a very fearful child- Long story and this isn't therapy. Anyway, as we grow we can choose to become jaded or we can choose to be strong in faith and hope. If we don't allow others or outside negative forces to influence us we can remain in our would of felicity.

You have pretty much answered your own question. We are most wise when we listen and learn. One need not speak to be wise.
