let them talk to my 2 year old for half an hour......at that time he was really into talking on the phone to anyone who would call. I though that the telemarketer would have hung up sooner but no it took him 32 minutes before he hung up after telling my son that they would call back at a better time.

I shop asking them to repeat their question and that i tell them that i'm at a loss for words and that i don't comprehend what they are speaking approximately...i eventually say sorry to them and ask them to thrill positioned somebody else on the line, somebody that i could have the skill to comprehend.

I've done several funny things, but no mean things.... Here are my favs...

1. Try to sell them something, Avon, fundraiser stuff, you know, whatever. They usually get very confused.

2. Ask them what they are wearing, tell them it has been so long since you have heard another human voice, would they please stay on the phone and talk to you, ask for their phone number and extension so you can call back and speak to them directly, etc. That works EVERY time and they never call back again.

My son is only 15 but sounds much older. Telemarketers often call, assume he is older and begin their pitch. My son puts the phone down and let's them talk on and on until they figure out that no one is there.

Not answered the phone... I'm not mean to telemarketers. It's their job. They're just trying to feed their families.

hang up.

best thing......keep saying hold on, hold on, act busy, make noise. then ask, " I'm sorry.....can I call you back? this just isn't a good time for me, let me get your name and number and I'll call you back. Ohh shoot....I have to run errands later...let me get your home number too so I don't miss you ".

You will hear this long pause...............for a telemarketer has no clue how to answer, for they just read a screen and are told what to say to any question out there. But this question isn't on their list.

The ones that keep calling to sell storm windows... my brother told them we could only use the round ones, because we live in an igloo.

He also tells them they must have the wrong number, because he doesn't even have a phone.

Listened to their entire sales pitch and led them on till the very end and hung up right before they were about to close the deal.

Now they know what it's like to have your time wasted.
