My internal cd rom on my pc just wouldn't work. I went and bought a new one... it is a dvd rw rewritter and now that one will not work. What could it be? It Must be my pc... But what is it i should try that may make it work? I am very frustrated. Thanks for your help.

Typically, your computer should have said it found new hardware! If not, go into the control , open System, click on Hardware, then Device Manager. A list of all your hardware should appear! If there is a yellow question mark next to DVD/CD Rom, then you know for sure the computer does not recognize it period! Exit this, then go back to the control panel then choose Add Hardware! Let the wizard try to find it! If you still have no luck, there may be improper installation! Windows will typically search for a driver for it once it is recognized! Assuming you have two drives, you should check the jumpers on each. One should be marked "Master", and the other as "Slave". If they're not set up correctly, Windows probably won't recognize one, or possibly both. A good reference can be found at the below link.
