To the family Yes, especially the kids, it's like a drug just sitting there listening to their imagination.
At work, I don't really listen at all. I know what I have to do and how to do it so when some boss wanders along to offer his advice I simply tune out and nod my head occasionally.

sometimes i pretend when my dorkish brother is trying to talk or when its really boring, but most of the time I listen.
