I wanted to poll folks out there -- do you think that a guy looks gay wearing Converse shoes? Most of the people I have seen wearing them are either women or guys who look like they are stuck in a 1980s deadhead/Metallica funk. I absolutely love them - have four pairs, but I wonder what women think of guys wearing them -- do you think its cool or dorky? I lived in Japan for 6 years where Chucks seem to be the national shoe -- just about every other teenager out there seems to be wearing them. Thats where I got hooked and bought my first pair. (Im going to wear them regardless, but just curious...)

They were originally a shoe for guys. It looks good on guys. It just depends on what type of style you have. If your style includes converse, then more power to you! I like converse on guys. And a few of my friends who have them are definitely not stuck in the 80's. So yes, I say wear them proudly! ~

of course a guy wearing converse doesnt look gay.
but i dont like converse shoes because its really worn by ones who look like they are stuck in a 1980s deadhead/Metallica funk!!!! teenagers wearing old black-purple clothes and think they are cool.

No they are still very popular. They are coming back in a big way. They even have a Converse store. You should check it out on line. If you like them you should wear them no matter what other people say. I say go for it buddy.

It's not cool for anyone to wear them, in my opinion. Maybe to everyone else, but not to me. Why would you want to wear the same shoes that EVERYone else around you is wearing?

Nothing is "gay" about wearing Converse, all basketball players used to use them and now they are embraced by punk. Wear what you want to wear.

I think that they are fine..They are classic..I know tons of guys that wear them!..Just never buy the imitations..Nothings like a pair of chucks.

Well i live in Bahrain i think there r cool !! i cant wear them anymore coz im working alot so i dont get to go out casual !! i think they r made for guys n gals !!

i love converse shoes but the quality has really gone downhill since nike took over.
