Ultram, Tramal, Zydol are all brand names of Tramadol Hydrochloride it is a pain killer originally manafactured in Germany. It is a kind of synthetic opioid, which means the chemicals are designed to bind to the opioid receptors in the brain blocking out pain. You may experience a jaw grinding effect similar to that of amphetamines but is not intense and nothing like speed so dont worry about that.
The usual dose is 50 mg twice a day to treat moderate to severe pain. Dosage can go up and down depending on what kind of pain you're in. Highest dose should be no more than 300 mg per day. It has less side effects then that of other strong pain relievers such as oxy contin, percocet, vicodin, oxycodone and other opiods basically morphine pills. All these pills including tramadol are slow release, meaning the drug works over a period of around 6-12 hours which doesn't give you an overwhelming hit for example as heroin would. Although ,Tramadol, Demerol, Morphine etc. can be given intravenously for really extreme pain. Positives include pain relief and euphoria, the euphoria isn;t as much as morphine but never the less it's still good. As far as i know Tramadol causes less constipation than most of the other narcotic pain relievers.Less chance of psychological addiction and helps with sleep. Negatives include tolerance happens quickly , meaning you need more for the same effect, addiction can still occur, after extended use if ceased suddenly the withdrawls can be severe including seizures, shaking, sweating, nausea the list goes on, but it's the same with all medications you need to weind off them slowly under the supervision and guidance of a health care proffessional. But if you happen to be an idiot like me I've been using tramadol recreationally (unprescribed bought off street) for about 2 weeks straight 300 mg a day and after tomorrow I'm gonna run out and i cant get any for another two weeks, so basically I'm f***ed. I'm gonna have to go down to the dr's and see if they can do something for me. Another important warning is never ever drink on tramadol, I drank a bottle of vodka and had 300mg and O.Dose off to the hospital for me, that was intense and wouldn't recomend it to anyone. Overall Tramadol is pretty safe as long as your dr is aware of dossage and that your pain is being managed propperly. Oh yeh it's quite expensive aswell. Like all drugs anyone can have a bad reaction, usually, headaches, nausea, diahorea it is rare though to have any severe side effect, most of the time they'll start you on the smallest dose possible then gradually increase and see how you go from there. good luck if you get any please send some this way. that was half joke half serious, have a nice day.
