the Numbers are the number of the fret you push down.

The order of the strings goes:

1
2
3
4
5
6

so if it's:

|--1----------------
|--------------------
|--------------------
|--------------------
|--------------------
|--------------------

then you push down the first string, first fret.

Hope I helped!

Tab is easy.. Basically strings are the lines. 1-6, and fret number and sometimes fingering is notated by the number on the string. Glad you can read music. Much better in the long run. A great guitar book is put out by Musicians Institute.. on sight reading for guitar. All guitarists who want to play professionally should read, not just chord charts. .The Berklee Books are good too.. I used those back in the 70's.
