Two of the best games for Nintendo DS are Brain Age and Big Brain Academy. They are both cheap ($20/each) and they aren't really typical games, they are brain training games that involve speed, logic, memory and mind recognition.

The Brain Age game measures the age of your brain through a series of brief tests. It is excellent training, and it truly keeps your brain sharp if you play it a couple times a week. Unlike a standard game that you can beat in a few hours, this game has virtually unlimited replay value. You can't technically beat it. There is an extensive sudoku mode, and if you complete all the sudoku puzzles, you can always play them again. They range in difficulty from basic to extreme.

The Big Brain Academy is a similar concept, but different exercises designed to help your brain function quicker. I personally think using either or both of these games a couple times a week will absolutely sharpen your brain. Reaction times will be improved, logic and memory will improve. While they're not glitzy like Castlevania, which is also an excellent series of games for DS, they are fun, entertaining and inexpensive.

The best games I have played are probably:
Big Brain Academy- just a bunch of mini games that help your brain. They are separated into different categories, targeting different things. Most of the games are 30-60 second things, like having you remember a number on the screen, doing math problems, putting shapes into a figure, etc.
Wario Ware Touched- Again, just a bunch of mini games, but they're extremely addicting. There's multiple levels, and they all have to do with a certain action with the stylus, such as rubbing, flicking, etc. You get other mini games for beating the levels, some completely random, but fun.
The Urbz: Sims in the City- It's semi-fun, and it's a lot like the Urbz for the PS2. You basically run around and do missions that center around the idea for the chapter. These mostly range from getting someones relation to a certain point, or buying something. For jobs you do mini games, which usually don't involve the stylus.
Mario Kart - A really fun game, and it's even funner if you have friends with a DS. You can play them without a connector, and, your friends don't need the game (only 1 person need to have it). If you get bored of the racing, then you can try other modes, such as the battle mode. The racing part is like any standard mario kart game; race to the finish, get items along the way, and try and finish in 1st-ish.

I find the same problem... the games aren't very hard, I play them, beat them then get bored. But I would recommend New Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 64 DS (has good additions to the N64 games), Super Princess Peach (kinda easy though), and Brain Age.

First of all, I need to know your age so I will know what are good games for you. Second of all, Nintendogs rock.

P.S. And it's Nintendogs, not Nintendo Dogs.
