It's the paradox effect. What is pushed repeatedly is rejected, the insidious that comes in under the radar is accepted.
In that regard the racism is much like a religion.

They're angry and they're uneducated. White kids today feel suckered, they are not reaping the benefits that their fathers and grandfathers were able to reap by basically having the entire system rigged in their favor, now they have to work for it and compete with other minorities on a mostly fair playing field. Many of them are not up to this challenge and are being beat in a game, their parents prospered in. This is why so many of them are into body mutilation...cutting, tattoos, piercing themselves all over. Many of them have embraced Thug Life, Tupac's manifesto of life. They are shooting up highschools and wigging out because they are finding they can't live up to their parents worth in an equal and fair system.
Chris Rock said it best. "You know how I know the world has gone crazy...because I'm more afraid of white kids than I am of black kids."

Maybe they feel like it empowers them that they are superior than others. I think alot of factors effect how a child thinks too for ex: where they live, their friends, and if they have minorities living in the area. I think is time we get past race issue and see the big picture which is rich and poor. More than 40 percent of the nations wealth is held by 1 percent of its people and the gap is widening.

The same reason you just did. Confusion. Label the people black, white, hispanic, or what not, and you've seperated yourself from them. They are not Afro-Americans. They are Americans.
