Suicide is cheating at the game of life, we all go threw periods of total misery and we tough it out learn fromt he experience and move on with our lives, to buck up and quit, well that can almost be called un-americian LOL

Just because you cant see a purpose in living at that particular time, doesn't mean there wont be a purpose, maybe even a very significant and fundamental purpose, at a later date.
And if you've got no purpose in living, what the hell does it matter if anyone else cares. Surely the best course of action when you have nothing is to start building from the ground up? Make yourself a purpose! The world has so many possibilities and oppurtunities, it just needs you to take them.
Suicide just ain't the answer my friend. Plus if there is someone on the other side, they aren't going to be too pleased that you deliberately bumped off one of their creations for no proper reason.
PS If you're asking this question from a kind of ''im a failed evil Nazi dictator holed up in my underground bunker with the Russians banging on the door'' perspective, then yeah, maybe.

Its is extremely selfish to commit suicide.. sure the person may think no one really cares about him/her..but after this person kills himself/herself then what about the family..the family ends up blaming there selves ..u end up leaving behind a family that will be so hurt and depressed by ur actions..
I think suicide is wrong..try working on the feeling on lonliness because i dont believe that this person really want to harm his or her family like that especially if there are kids involved...
no it is NOT the best course of action..this person may think so but they wont be her efor the after math will they?....if u were ever to deal with a suicide in the family i dont think u wuould feel that wut they did wuz right..u would probably feel that there dicision was wrong also...

Most people will think it's wrong because for most people their life isn't so bad that they would consider suicide. They might think it's something someone is weak and selfish might do. It is considered an irrational thought by those in the medical community and in general society.
But if you ask someone intelligent who can really think about it thorougly they would probably agree with you that under extreme circumstances it might be most viable solution, especially when there is no chance of relief in the future.

There was never any purpose in living. And really no one cares for any one else. One must live for oneself - not for a purpose or for someone who cares.
Suicide is not a course of an action - it is running away from action. It is not a solution. It is surrendering to a problem.
If there is no one to care and no purpose to serve - good - you can now enjoy life to the hilt - why kill it?

Well, my viewpoint (am sure) will not be agreeable to some people. We are unique beings and our pattern of thinking is unique too. Our thinking is based on subjective experiences.
I don't have a clue why people believe suicide is wrong. I would not say suicide is "wrong" but it is definitely not a solution to any problem. I believe, suicide is sought as a means to escape form the problem. Now the person who is going through a problem and who is at the verge of committing suicide would say..."You don’t have a clue about the amount of pain, loneliness and dejection I am going through!" If I refute the statement that there is no hope and no one cares, and that suicide is the best course of action…some of you may disagree. But I respect every idea. Though these thoughts are irrational, what we need is an understanding heart and an ear that diligently listens and tries to provide unconditional support even in the toughest of situations. That understanding heart, listening ear and unconditional support is what I, as a fellow human being in this world, am trying to attain.
But then I would like to say that I have seen my mom die a painful death in the hospital. 50 long days…3 cardiac arrests and excessive medication has made her body to float in drugs. I have had sleepless nights keeping a watch over her. And finally on the 50th day she breathes her last. Now loss of a loved one cannot be taken casually. This incident has shaken me and I still miss my mother. There were nights when I cried myself to sleep. But then, this experience has thought me to empathize with the people who have lost their loved ones or who go through pain and suffering. This incident has made me a human being.
Most often, people commit suicide due to loneliness, dejected feeling or some sort of mental pain. At that juncture they do not have anyone to talk about. Supposedly, suicide is the 8th leading cause of death in the world. It’s alarming to know that there are so many people in the world, yet these unfortunate souls do not find one person who can really empathize or would listen to their agony. No amount of explanation on how bright and hopeful the world is and how beautiful the world is…will help the person, at a point where life seems to be harsh and unjust.
Another incident that has made me more resolute in my fight against suicide is the incident that taken my friend’s life. She lost her husband and I must admit that I should have been with her to support her in that time of personal loss. Being caught up with life and work, I rather ignored (sorry to say this) the fact that she may need someone to be with her just to talk to. 5 days back from now, she committed suicide. I don’t know what lead her to take this extreme step but whatever it is it must have been more than overwhelming for her to handle. Wish I was at that place when she felt lonely and sad, when she thought she had no one to talk to. The selfish one is not the person who committed suicide, but people around her who could not help her are the ones who should be branded selfish.
What I conclude is that we as individuals have our thought and thinking pattern which is so unique. I may take the loss of loved one in a healthy way, learn from the incident and try my best to help others who need my help. But there are people who are shaken with the incident and may sulk away. Perhaps the approach human beings take has something to do with individual traits and ability to handle a traumatic situation.
These incidents have compelled me to form a community on Orkut. This group is called “SuicideWatch”. The whole idea of the group is to make aware the fact to the world that we are not alone. If YOU need help, solace or support please feel free to join the group. Utmost secrecy is maintained regarding the issues that the individual faces. I must admit one more thing, that I am a Psychology graduate and have done courses in counseling.
Visit the community by clicking the below link. I am not doing any promotion here. I want YOU to know that there are human beings, who are ready to HELP by providing unconditional SUPPORT and are willing to CARE for YOU.

Thank you.

Because it is a very devastating event, just imagine finding a loved one dead after committing suicide...it would probably scar you for life, and the worst is thinking that they did it on purpose...it seems selfish.

Most of them like to play the saint by saving souls. It makes them feel good about themselves.
I mean, someone says "i wanna die" over the internet and a bunch of people that don't even know that person come up with "don't kill yourself! life will be good again, just wait"...what other explanation can you get?! Either that or they can all see the future.

I agree... I say if you aren't happy then be gone with ya and stop wasting everyone's time. Do it and get it over with since you obviously don't care about those who care for you.
It leaves more oxygen for those of us who are HAPPY to simply wake up in the morning !!
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh life is good !!
