Can i claim child maintenance back from Ex's equity?

My Ex has a charge on the property I am living in with our children. When the time comes to sell, can I claim back all the child maintenance he has failled to pay from his share of the equity?

i think you can file at court for the debt, then it will be ruled to come out of any money he comes into which would include any equity.
