Yes. Most lubricants (including KY Jelly) do not allow sperms to move as well as your own fluid (or Pre-Seed) does, which lowers the chance of conception. This website covers specifics and numbers, percents, etc. of KY Jelly, Pre-Seed, and other lubricants. The first page is the most helpful for what you are asking I think.

This website is much less informative but gives a short answer to lubrication as a whole and its pros & cons.

Sperm cannot swim very well in KY but they can swim in Pre~seed. That's why fertility clinics are using Pre~seed. I use Pre~seed even when I'm not TTC. I know of some people that have gotten pregnant while using KY but I would just rather not take the chance. I happen to be someone who is very sensitive to intimate moisturizers and I'm super happy I found Pre~seed.

I was told by a Fertility OB once that using olive oil as a lubricant is a better alternative than KY Jelly. Hope this helps.

You would be better off using pre-seed or no artificial lubrication. Sperm need your fertile cervical mucous to survive ad thrive and make it to the egg. Preseed is more like your fertile cervical mucous, and is less likely to trap or slow down sperm.

I have not experienced that. I would say try it naturally then if that does not work then try that. but you can try not having intercourse frequently. try every other day, check for fertility signs. Around ovulation your curvical mucus will be like egg white try then. And then dont get up for at least 10 mins or try putting a pillow under you.

I never heard of it, as you said it is a lubricant, but you can always give it a try.

I never used it when ttc as I read that any lubricant other than your own can affect the sperm.

It can only help. After all, the lubricants help the sperm to get where they want to go!
